Common Name: Canary Island Aeonium
Country of Origin: Tenerife, Canary Islands
This beautiful velvety green succulent commonly known as the 'Canary Island Aeonium', is a type of Crassulaceae succulent who grows on cliffs and dry slopes in the northern part of Tenerife, Canary Island. The season for Aeoniums is winter to spring, thriving in cooler, damper environments than most other succulents. In extreme heat or during the summer, their leaves will curl to prevent excessive water loss. Pots sold separately.
Care Instructions:Light tolerance: Enjoys full sun except during hot summer days when partial shade is recommended.
Water tolerance: Water once a week or when the first two inches of the soil are dry. Do not overwater, too much moisture will lead to root rot. During the summer Aeoniums are dormant, may not look as great and need less water.
Soil: Enjoys gritty succulent potting soil. Feed during the growing season (winter to spring) with new soil or a half strength balanced fertilizer. Avoid fertilizing your aeonium during the summer. If you grow them in containers, repot them with fresh potting soil every 2 -3 years. (Pot not included).
