The Opuntia Basilaris "Beavertail Cactus" is a very interesting cactus native to the southwestern United States. The Beavertail Cactus is known for their vibrant magenta flowers. They sport wide and flat pads resembling a beavers tail. Their colors are beautiful with bluish-green pads that have a purple tint al along its edges. They have any clumps of spikes on their pads also in a purple tint. This Opuntia Basilaris is planted in a stunning round, teal pot ith bulging dots all around.
Water Tolerance: Water once a week (preferably on schedule). Allow the soil to be dry between waterings. Do not overwater as too much moisture will lead to root rot.
Soil: Enjoys gritty succulent potting soil. Feed during the growing season (winter to spring) by adding new soil. If you grow them in containers, repot them with fresh potting soil every 2 -3 years.
